Fountain Operation & Maintenance
To prolong the life of your
commercial chocolate fountain, proper operation and periodic
replacement of 'wear and tear' components will allow your
product to function for many years.
Never tightly wrap the base of the fountain, unless you wish to replace the motor prematurely.
Commercial chocolate fountains have vent holes near the basin that holds the chocolate
for a very good reason. These vent holes are responsible for allowing hot air from the motor to escape and assists in maintaining an acceptable level of heat within the base. Wrapping the fountain can cause the motor to overheat and shutdown. If this happens, you will need to allow the fountain time to cool off and may also need to replace your fuse, prior to restarting the fountain.
Just like a vacuum cleaner, check your belt every so often. We suggest doing this once a quarter
or at least once a year. If the chocolate fountain belt is loose or shows wear and tear, tighten or replace it.
Anytime you hear a 'thunk-thunk-thunk' sound during operation,
you have a belt issue. It's not a big deal but if not tightened
or changed, it will eventually come off and operation of your
chocolate fountain fun will cease. For assistance with changing
or tightening your belt, contact your chocolate fountain manufacturer or authorized distributor for instructions.
After each use, thoroughly clean the components and remove
any chocolate that may have dripped inside the base via the vent holes.
Of course, this can be avoided if using a drip guard. Drip Guards are a wonderful invention
that keep the majority of the chocolate inside the fountain's
base and off the linens and surrounding floor area. DR™ has a patented
drip guard that has a lip on the outer and inner edges of the guard
and the entire guard is slanted upward. Like all products that
DR™ manufacturers, you can
expect functionality and quality. These are beneficial for more adequately containing the chocolate.
Most commercial
chocolate fountains have seals and bearings. These are
inexpensive parts but will need to be replaced when you hear a
high pitched noise or when the axle does not turn.
